Getting started

Kompetansepluss is a grant programme supporting basic skills training for adults. Learning connects with participants’ working lives and everyday needs. Consult HK-dir for current conditions and official guidance.

You create a safe learning environment, clear goals and relevant tasks. Get to know learners’ experience and clarify expectations with your Prios contact and the employer.

Start with situations learners actually encounter: a message, a calculation or a digital form. Simplify the task where needed while keeping its connection to work.

Adults bring experience, strategies and skills that teaching should build on. Explain why a task is useful, allow learners to influence the lesson and provide safe opportunities to practise and reflect.

Agree relevant tasks, access to anonymised materials and practical arrangements with the employer. Listen to learners’ priorities too. Do not share personal information or assessments without an agreed basis.

Prepare a clear opening, a modelled task, practice time and a short review. Adapt pace and support throughout. Clarify rooms, equipment and internal routines with your contact.
